pod2g: Evad3rs not working on iOS 6.1.3 Jailbreak
| iDevicei |
Apple released the iOS 6.1.3 software update on March 19th. It fixed the Lock screen bug and brought improvements to Maps app for Japanese users.
Unfortunately from a jailbreaker point of view, it also killed the evasi0n jailbreak as Apple fixed 4 security flaws used by the evad3r to develop the jailbreak.
It is currently possible to only jailbreak iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 4G on iOS 6.1.3 . If you accidentally upgraded to iOS 6.1.3 on the newer devices or just bought a device that comes pre-installed with iOS 6.1.3 and are hoping that evad3rs team release a jailbreak for it, then we’ve some bad news.
pod2g, a key member of the evad3rs team has just tweeted that they’re not working on a jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3. They’re waiting for Apple to release a major update.
we are not working on a 6.1.3 jailbreak, that would be too much efforts for a minimal update. We’re waiting for a major release. While it makes sense to preserve the exploits for a major update, it is also a risk as Apple could fix them on their own in the next major iOS software update
It also remains to be seen if Apple will release iOS 6.2 before it releases iOS 7 and if evad3rs team will release a jailbreak for it.
So if you’re a jailbreaker, I would advise you to check out this post to find out what the iOS 6.1.3 means for you.
