Apple’s implementation of Notification Center since iOS 5 has been a welcome one but the devs have made it even more useful. VSNotifications is a new jailbreak tweak that has the capability to read your incoming notifications such as messages. A robotic but fluent Siri-like voice will speak them out for you so even looking towards the screen is not necessary.
The great thing is that you can even choose to make VSNotifications read out either the content of the message or the topic or even both. There is also an option to disable Notification banners to reduce the clutter on the screen. One great thing about this app is that it comes with plugins like SBSettings and Activator which can turn out to be pretty helpful too in functions like,
- Reading out the text you just entered in the text bar.
- Turn VSNotifications on/off based on whether your headphone is connected or not.

VSNotifications might not be the only app that allows you to make your iPhone read out your notifications but as of now, it certainly is the only one that is available for free.
